EV ride to Neemrana Fort, Rajasthan

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

For a long time, we were planning to go on a trip taking an Electric Vehicle. Finally, the day arrived, 30th Jan 2021 we hired a "Tata Tigor" from Gurugram based Taxi Company. The Taxi Company provides us with a range up to around 153km with 100% State of Charge (SOC) and some basic guidelines.
Before this, we googled, downloaded many mobile apps to search for charging stations on a way we could travel. And goosebumps, we got some locations of charging points near Neemrana Fort on google so we decided to go that way.
We started our journey. Full of excitement! Listening and singing Bollywood masala. And Why not, after all, it's our first EV trip but at the same time, we were quite anxious too as we weren't sure that we will get the charger or not at decided locations. There is no way to connect with them before reaching there. The distance between the Source to Neemrana Fort was around 110km. The anxiety and nervousness were kept increasing with the battery going down. But things become more difficult when the internet facility was cut down due to farmer's protests. We switched to listening to Bhajans hahaha.
We started stopping at each petrol pump for charging but there was no help. We kept going ahead with the hope to get the charging facility on a location we know through google. Then, we reached Neemara with around 20% battery remaining. The information of the charging point location was wrong and it was no more available for the past few months.
We were like doubting our decision with full of tiredness. As we know, India is always a home of Kind Peoples. Some people came to help us with charging, also Taxi Company was constantly in touch with us. Somehow, luckily we got a location of a charge point at a petrol pump. And yeah!! We got a DC fast charger.
But guess what?? No one there knows how to start charging the vehicle, not even the operator of the petrol pump. After some long discussion with the charger manufacturer, the charging starts happening and we were back to Gurugram.
So the overall experience was quite exciting, thrilling, and tells a lot of travel anxiety and hassles. And a lot of scope and opportunities are there on Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure.
So, here we are working to make every ride of EV User hassle-free, delightful with a vision to create the largest charging network that solves all the problems "like Prior updated information of Charging Station, One-Click Charging, Online Payment and many more" that we faced.
